Gamecock is one of the most celebrated Louisiana Iris cultivars in the world, renowned for its deep, velvety red-violet to near-black blooms that make a bold, dramatic statement at the pond's edge. This rare variety is a showstopper in any water garden, producing large, vibrant flowers in spring that contrast beautifully against its long, strap-like green foliage. Gamecock thrives in shallow water or moist soil and performs exceptionally well in Malta's warm climate, typically flowering from April onward. Plant in a submerged basket at 5 to 15cm depth for best results.
